Hey, I've got a G&G Scar L. It was a great gun but the hop up broke. The guy I had try to fix it broke the gear box assembly. (I know, I know... He's super fired). Anyway, his compliant was that the hop-up for this gun was impossible to find. So I emailed G&G and they sent one that seems to fit. But since the gearbox is now broke, (The entire housing is cracked in half and he lost a bunch of screws - the guts are shot.)

My question is this. Will a Matrix gear box ( AIM Lipoly Ready 8mm Complete Gearbox for M4 / M16 series Airsoft AEG ) fit in this gun? it is very tight in there and The Matrix cost $110 bucks... So I want to make sure the Matrix will fit before I waste my time and Evikes time with a return if it doesn't.

Also, If I get a Matrix gear box will this cheapo plastic hop-up from G&G fit on it or can I put in a better hop-up unit? Preferably a Madbull ultimate hop-up unit. The one with a tracer unit built in? Also, I promise this is the last part of my question... Will I also need a new motor to push the Matrix?

I believe the scar uses a version 2 gearbox (quote me if i am wrong), so just purchase a gearbox of the correct version.
Google the hop-up variant, though everything I read says it is proprietary.
How do you break the gearbox looking for the hop-up!? XD is it screwed into the gearbox??? I would think it would be the same operation as most m4's...
