Hello peoples,

i am making a custom m16/DMR Rifle. i have done everything i need to do to it except one thing. i need a longer inner barrel. The longest i have found they sell is 650mm. I meed one that is 790mm for my gun. Does anyone know where i can buy one? Someone told me to use a CAD program and ave some company make it for me. BUt that costs alot. Anyone know how i can get my hands on a longer inner barrel?

Do you realize that that long of a barrel is physically impossible to be functional? Basically, you need a bore up kit for a longer barrel, however, that is up to a certain length. Eventually a bore up kit will not be enough for the long barrel, which is in this case, completely true. You're pushing it already with a 650mm barrel, but a 790mm barrel? There's a reason why manufacturers don't make that long of a barrel. You won't have enough air compressed behind the bb long enough to propel it out of the barrel efficiently and accurately. You MIGHT be able to do it with an HPA set up, but EVEN IF YOU DO, you'll need the FPS rating so high it'll be illegal to use in ANY field. So I suggest you scrap that idea, because it will not come to fruition. And by the way, a sniper rifle ( Type96) uses a 499mm inner barrel. That's enough to block your way in tight spots, a 790mm barrel will make it impossible for you to run around in the field. That's literally, getting a Barret 50cal and hot gluing 3 suppressors on it.

He's right. There is absolutely no function to having an extremely long barrel other than decreasing accuracy and range. Stick with either the 650 (and that's already really pushing it) or a standard sized barrel like a 499 or 510. While there is a LOT of discussion between wether a longer or shorter barrel is better, I think we can all agree that 740 is ridiculously too long.
How long is your gun anyway??? Would it even be fieldable with its length?

Yeah insted of making the barrel longer im having my friend making a sclilencer that actually works, well as well as it can. he made one for his other gun that worked well.




Its 4 and a half feet long ish with the stock extended.

Tell your friend that he can do federal time for doing that. And it won't "actually" work since the concept of a silencer doesn't come into play with airguns.

Your gun right now is long enough already if not, too long. The longer it is, the more cumbersome it gets. Inner barrels and their lengths do play a part in the accuracy and range of a gun, but not so much compared to hop up units. A super long barrel is sh*t with cheap hop up unit. Just look into tight bore barrels of 6.03mm/6.01mm in diameter. Be careful of 6.01's if you're lazy and like to skip cleaning your gun, as it will be guaranteed to jam in the middle of a game.

Actually you can make what ever you want for your self but as long as you don't sell it you should be fine legally speaking. also if is a silencer for a airsoft gun it would be considered just a toy not even a real suppressor lol.

But yeah the longer inter barrel does not make the airsoft gun shoot further. This only works for real guns. What actully makes the bb go so far is the hop up bucking and the hop up spacer. I run a 510mm tight bore TanioKova twist hop barrel at 450 fps on propane on 4 of my guns and the A++ hop up bucking with my home made aluminum concave spacer it shoots oh so far and so straight. I hit people 160 feet away

"Silencers are legal under federal law but since 1934 you must pay a $200 tax to purchase and submit to an FBI background check. Fingerprints and photos must be provided and a long wait of several months occurs before the paperwork is approved. There is no 'license' needed to own a silencer.

State law is a different matter. The following states allow ownership of silencers: AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MT, NE, ND, NV, NH, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY. Of the sixteen states which do not allow civilian ownership, CA, IA, KS, MA, MO, and MI allow Class-3 dealers and Class-2 manufacturers to own silencers."

ATF doesn't care if you intend on putting it on an airsoft gun.

Sadly, CA is probably hit the hardest, second only to NY when it comes to gun laws/restrictions. NY bans all civilians from firearms, whereas CA makes it super long/tedious to file sh*t/obtain a firearm. Bottom line is, stick with a shorter inner barrel and forget the silencer/suppressor. You save time, money, and effort, as well as a LOT less frustration/stress.

Actually good news for anyone needing a longer TB I found a steel tube that is the right size man I'll post the pics later on this week the one I got is 5' long lol I just got it to make a recoil rod for my custom m4 gbbr I'm making and the internal wall size is at 6.2mm and just needs to be worked on the lathe on the outer part of it down a bit because it is at 10mm. Is not stainless but is carbon steel so is very strong also the internal wall looks really smooth.

On the silencer I got my tokiomarui one for my beloved p90 and it has the foam but sucks cause bb's get stuck some times in it so I'm making the longer barrel with the tube I found so it will be full lenght but will leave a small opened area to let the silencer effect work on it :D:D:D:D
