Hi, I'm new to this forum and website, also in the airsoft knowledge. I just bought a Matrix M14 spring action online in Evike and is my first time buying a gun online. My first guns were spring pistols from Wal Mart. So my questions are: Does the Matrix M14 Spring shoots at 310-390 FPS and does it seem like a good buy that is below $60? I'm asking these two questions because I bought a Swmith & Wesson SW40F Gas Blowback from big 5 and according to the package of the gun, it shoots 380 FPS, but when I first shot it, it shot inaccurate and traveled less than 70-80 feet. It felt like the gun shot at around 300-330 FPS. I apologize in advance if my questions were "dumb" and "stupid," I just don't want to be tricked again by false advertisements and inaccurate facts for a gun that I paid for. Well, the spring could be rated for 390, but the compression of the parts is probably awful. Also, FPS means nothing. It's all in the hop-up for accuracy in range. FPS does help, but not nearly as important as hop-up. May want to save up for a better rifle, maybe a BASR (Bolt action sniper rifle).

Bolt Action Sniper Rifles? I thought the Matrix M14 Springer is a sniper rifle?
But I am just a beginner at airsofting, as you may have noticed since I was worried about the FPS of the Matrix M14, and I have really low income. If I had $100 or more to spend on an airsoft gun, I would have immediately bought it instead of GBB pistols from Big 5 or $55 spring action M14s.
Although, I highly appreciate the logic you have given me about FPS and Hop-Ups.

Well, yeah, it is. I was speaking more traditionally of Remington 700-type of BASR.
Since you're new, that should suffice, at least until you run into a higher income, or just recieve moneys from places.... Although I can't condone robbing a bank. XD
Just know that it won't compete with some high-end guns. If this is for backyard or between-friends sort of thing, you should be fine.

When I saw this, I nearly flipped in shock/disbelief. I remember these selling for 300+. If I had known about them earlier, I'd save an extra 20 instead of getting my UTG Type 96.
But yeah, these are pretty good. $130 is actually not a lot, if you start factoring in all the upgrades you'll be doing to outperform AEGs.. Also, if you live in socal (walnut area) go to the store itself on Tues. 20% day on all items and you can buy instore, saving another $10-20 on shipping.

Yeah, I only play with my friends at this one abandoned place 20 minutes away from us. Although, I have seen some airsoft skirmishes in YouTube and thought it was really cool to compete in a sport that I like a lot.

Yes, I know your pain. They had this door buster deal for a Crane Stock M4 that was originally priced at $150+ but was reduced to $50. The exact moment I clicked "Add To Cart," the gun was set to 'Out Of Stock'. I was furious and wanted to fight that one person who last bought, but then I thought to myself that Evike have so many other guns.
I thought about buying from their retail store, but didn't know they do 20% off in Tuesdays! That's nice! Next time I decided to buy a gun, I'll make sure to get it from their retail store. Thanks for the information!
